Holistic Mental Health Support for Moms
I will be on maternity leave from October 1st, 2025 through January 12th, 2026 as my family and I welcome our new little one. During this time, I will not be available for sessions, calls, or messages.
✨ If you’d like to work with me once I return, you can join my waitlist now (click here) to secure your spot in the new year.
✨ Current clients are encouraged to schedule remaining appointments before September 30th.
✨ If you need support while I’m away, I can provide referrals to trusted colleagues.
I’m so grateful for your support and understanding during this special season. I look forward to reconnecting with you in 2026! 💕
Warmly,
Crystal Hammons, LPC-Associate
(Supervised by Johanna Montenegro, LPC-S)
Motherhood is life-changing, but it’s not the picture-perfect experience we expect. Many mothers face challenges like:
• Pregnancy and postpartum depression
• Anxiety and constant worry
• Trauma from birth or past experiences
You don’t have to carry these struggles alone. My practice is dedicated to helping mothers:
• Process their emotions in a safe, nonjudgmental space
• Develop tools to manage anxiety and overwhelm
• Heal from trauma and build confidence in motherhood
Using holistic and evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), trauma-informed care, and online sand tray therapy, I help mothers feel supported, understood, and empowered on their unique motherhood journey.
At this time I am not taking insurance, but I do provide a limited amount of sliding scale slots for those unable to pay the full amount. Contact me for more information on this.
Therapy doesn’t follow a fixed timeline—it varies for each individual because everyone’s journey is unique. For some, therapy may be short-term, focusing on a specific life event, while for others, it may be a longer process to address ongoing or more complex issues.
Based on your experiences and needs, we may start with weekly sessions and work together to determine the treatment plan that will best support you.
The purpose of therapy is to create a safe and supportive space where individuals can explore their experiences, emotions, and thoughts to work toward realistic solutions. While psychotherapy is often used to address mental health concerns such as anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, eating disorders, addictions, and psychotic disorders, it’s also valuable for those who don’t face these specific challenges. Therapy can help with managing daily conflicts and life stressors, providing tools and strategies to navigate them in healthier and more effective ways.
It’s completely normal to feel a little nervous about your first therapy session. Building a strong relationship with your therapist is important, and during this session, we’ll have the chance to get to know each other better. We’ll go over your intake paperwork and might discuss things like your birth experience, feeding journey, children, relationships, support system, and any symptoms you’re experiencing. The main goal is to help you feel comfortable, understand your needs, and start setting therapy goals.
Yes! Research indicates that virtual therapy is equally effective as in-person counseling, with satisfaction levels post-session being comparable for both formats.
Although I focus on motherhood therapy, I also provide support for all women 18 years or older.
No, I also work with women who are not mothers.
I understand that things can come up unexpectedly. However, I kindly request that you provide at least 24 hours' notice if you need to cancel your appointment. This allows me to offer the spot to another client who may be waiting. If you miss your session or fail to cancel within the 24-hour window, a $50 fee will be applied to your account.
Many symptoms, such as mood swings, irritability, crying, and fatigue, overlap between the baby blues and postpartum depression. The key differences lie in the intensity and duration of these symptoms. If you've been experiencing these feelings for more than two weeks, or if you're not feeling like yourself, I encourage you to reach out. I can help clarify the distinctions and provide the necessary support.
